One-to-one online Japanese lessons

Speak Japanese naturally. Start from zero.

Most beginners can read the grammar and recognise the words, but freeze the moment they have to say something. Japanese Flow closes that gap with structured speaking practice in every lesson.

What Japanese Flow provides

Private lessons, taught live, one student at a time

The service

Scheduled one-to-one Japanese lessons of 50 minutes, delivered live over video call. Every lesson is taught personally by Tamon. There are no group classes, no pre-recorded substitutes, and no automated tutoring.

Who it is for

Complete beginners and early-level learners, taught in English. If you have never written a hiragana character, that is a normal place to start. If you have studied for a year but cannot hold a conversation, that is the more common one.

What a lesson covers

A short input segment introduces the target grammar or vocabulary, then the rest of the lesson is output: you build and speak your own sentences, with pronunciation and pitch accent corrected as you go.

Tamon

Tamon is a certified Japanese language instructor with more than eight years of teaching experience, and a native speaker from Okinawa. He has taught several hundred students online, working almost entirely with beginners and early-level learners.

His approach is built on one observation from those years: students who only study grammar and vocabulary stay stuck, and students who produce Japanese out loud in every single lesson do not. Lessons are run as guided practice rather than lectures.

Lessons are taught in English, so you do not need any Japanese to begin. Explanations are adjusted to your level as you progress, and pronunciation and pitch accent are corrected from the first lesson rather than left until later.

Japanese Flow is operated by Tamon as a sole proprietorship registered in Japan. Business details are published on the commerce disclosure page.
